The launch event

Friday 28th June was a big day for the campaigners hoping to save Queensbury Tunnel as part of a Bradford-Halifax Greenway.

It started with a gathering of walkers, cyclists, councillors and historians at the north portal, before VIPs arrived from over the hill to see how it could be flattened.

The main event brought a great turnout to Queensbury's Victoria Hall as keynote speakers extolled the virtues of the proposed route. Bradford Council launched its 'advocacy document' to support future funding bids.

Then BBC Look North pitched camp in front of the tunnel portal to wrap up the day's events, live to an audience across Yorkshire.
